Scoble posted this today:

“Have you checked out the latest ASP.NET and Visual Studio 2005? If so, what about it turns you to Rails?”

So, we commented and pointed him here. Funny that we’ve just started our 6-part series on the topic.

That's great. I read Scobel's post and the contents are very enlightening. I'm a .NET/C# by day and Rails by night for the last 6 months. I can't tell you how my distaste for MS has grown in the past 6 months or so. I was looking forward to 2.0 (since I got the alpha bits at PDC 2003!). It's just a let down.

In the next week, I'll be going love with my first consulting gig on Rails. It is just such a joy to work with. It's great to see others feel the same way.

I look forward to more Rails info from those who have been in the MS trenches. Keep blogging!

Thanks Ryan! You're totally right about the VS2005 launch being a total letdown. It is really a good product, but the launch events, etc. were really disappointing. The total lack of unit testing support in the non-Team System editions was really one of the biggest minuses in my mind. Anyway, thanks for visiting, and for your thoughts!
