I didn’t realize that Dreamhost upgraded Rails on their shared servers to 1.0. There was no announcement about it. I finally asked Dreamhost support about it and they replied that they had indeed upgraded to 1.0 on January 4 (at least on my box, ‘pico’) but the announcement got lost in the shuffle.

If you’re on Dreamhost, try rails -v and find out if you’ve been upgraded too (you probably have).

Dreamhost tech support has always been great, by the way, especially to someone like me who knows next to nothing about Linux.
