Subversion client 1.4 available 6
For those of you using the Subversion client, you should think about upgrading to 1.4 if you have an earlier version. I just realized I had 1.3 and upgraded both of my boxes.
To check which version of Subversion you have, go to a command prompt and type:
svn help
and it will display which version of the client you're running (and all the command options, etc.)
Read the release notes and the list of changes .
Note that if you upgrade to 1.4 everyone else on your team must upgrade also, because 1.4 has a breaking change to the working copy format. So if you start using 1.4 and then you commit a change to a file, the other developers on the team will need to upgrade before they can work with that file.
TortoiseSVN also has a correspoding 1.4 release, so if you're using TortoiseSVN, you can just upgrade your version of Tortoise and it will install the latest Subversion client for you. Read the latest Tortoise release.

Small correction to your post: TortoiseSVN does not install the Subversion command line client. It doesn't use that. It is linked directly with the libraries. So updating TortoiseSVN won't update your other Subversion client.
It's not true that everyone on your team needs to have svn 1.4. The working copy format has changed, but that is only a problem if you share the working copy. The repository is not affected by your client version.
I've been using 1.4 for two months and sharing work with plenty of people at user groups, with hardly a problem.
Matteo, of course it's only a problem if you share a working copy - that's the most common case and that's why I mentioned it. Again, as I said in my original post, "the other developers on the team will need to upgrade before they can work with that file." And I never said the repository would be affected; this is clear from the link I provided to the release notes.
Jeff, I think it's very unlikely two developers will share the same actual working copy. That would mean they're on the same PC. Sure they check out the same files but each on their own machine. In that case it is not a problem. Can you imagine the chaos that would mean if for instance one guy on the Apache team switched to 1.4 thousands of people are forced to upgrade. Luckily it doesn't work that way.
You do need to make sure all SVN clients on the same client machine have the same version. You cannot use say the 1.4 CLI and the 1.3 Eclipse plugin together.
