RubyGems on Windows, Part 1 5

Posted by jeff Monday, January 22, 2007 15:12:00 GMT

If you're using Ruby, understanding what Gems are all about is essential. The good news is that RubyGems is pretty easy to learn. I threw together an 11-minute screencast to get you started. The screencast assumes you're using Windows, but for Mac and Linux users, the concepts are the same.

This is Part 1, covering the basics of RubyGems, including how to install Rails on your Windows machine. I hope to get Part 2 done in the next couple of weeks.

So if you're new to whole Gems idea, take a look and let me know if you have any questions, or areas I should cover in Part 2.

Whence comes the Ideal of human reason, the solution of which involves the relation between our faculties and our ampliative judgements?

By means of analysis, the thing in itself is what first gives rise to, then, our faculties.

Really like the screencast. I wrote an introduction into creating a RubyGem on a Windows PC, I hope you find it useful: http://blog.emson.co.uk/2008/06/an-almost-fix-for-creating-rubygems-on-windows/

    Enjoy, Ben…
