Announcing: Rails for .NET Developers 13

Posted by brian Monday, June 30, 2008 21:19:00 GMT

If you’re one of our regular readers, well, thank you. But also, you may have been wondering where the heck we’ve been for the last 9 months.

I’m happy to announce that we’ve been pouring it all into our latest project, Rails for .NET Developers, to be published by Pragmatic this November.

Unsurprisingly, our book is geared toward experienced .NET/ASP.NET developers who are interested in learning more about Rails. We’re certainly seeing a shift in thinking in the Microsoft community regarding the philosophy and approach to web development, as evidenced by the ALT.NET movement and even technologies within Microsoft like ASP.NET MVC and IronRuby. So we think it’s a good time to get even more people in the MS camp excited about what we’ve been passionate about for so long.

So, please, tell all your .NET friends, and keep your eyes peeled for our announcement when the book is available for purchase.

I’m happy to learn about this book. Antonio Cangiano is writing a related book too, called Ruby on Rails for Microsoft Developers (according to his “post”: http://antoniocangiano.com/2008/05/28/ruby-on-rails-for-microsoft-developers/). I think I’m gonna get both books for Christmas :-)

Any chance at sample chapters or anything like that?

    Thanks for the support everyone!

@austin_web_developer: Pragmatic has made a few excerpts available from the book’s main page – just scroll down a bit to see the links to a few extracts. They’re not necessarily the final versions, but I hope they’re helpful.
