You’re probably familiar with the one-click installer for Windows. It will install the latest Ruby interpreter, the latest RubyGems, and a few other Ruby-related libraries onto any Windows machine.
For Mac OS X, many of us have used Dan’s article with great success to build a Ruby and/or Rails environment from scratch. (And TopFunky wrapped it up to make it even easier).
Now, there is also a one-click installer for Mac OS X. The main difference between this installer and the one for Windows is that the Mac version also includes a database engine (SQLite) and Mongrel so you can skip webrick right from the get go. (But remember, just like the Windows installer, the OCI will only install Ruby, not Rails.)
